You Can't Regenerate This!

"Something's wrong in their heads!"

Topless Robot is reporting a rumor that has been brought to the surface every few years in regards to Doctor Who. A feature film. Here is some of the information with my own unique commentary, from Variety.

LONDON -- "Harry Potter" director David Yates is teaming up with the BBC to turn its iconic sci-fi TV series "Doctor Who" into a bigscreen franchise.
Yates, who directed the last four Potter films, told Daily Variety that he is about to start work on developing a "Doctor Who" movie with Jane Tranter, BBC Worldwide's L.A.-based exec VP of programming and production.
"We're looking at writers now. We're going to spend two to three years to get it right," he said. "It needs quite a radical transformation to take it into the bigger arena."
Radical transformation to take it into the bigger arena? Yeah, that makes a lot of sense. Considering that when there is an event in the US for Doctor Who and Matt Smith shows there is NO ONE THERE. (see below)

Yep. No crowds there or anything. Just walking the streets of NYC like no one's business.

Yates made clear that his movie adaptation would not follow on from the current TV series, but would take a completely fresh approach to the material.
"Russell T. Davies and then Steven Moffat have done their own transformations, which were fantastic, but we have to put that aside and start from scratch," he said.
Now unless they are pulling a Bryan Singer and taking more from the older series of Doctor Who, I don't see how ANY of this can be a good thing. Look at the world we live in. Look at America in particular. Why confuse them with TWO Doctors? Makes no sense.

Yates and Tranter are looking for writers on both sides of the Atlantic.
"We want a British sensibility, but having said that, Steve Kloves wrote the Potter films and captured that British sensibility perfectly, so we are looking at American writers too," he explained.

Great. An American Doctor. Well, everyone who asked for it. You're going to get it! And he's going to end up like this:
(I actually love Inspector Spacetime, just an example)

All in all I have to say that this is a really bad idea. I'm waiting for the report from the BBC saying that this is all just an unfounded rumor and that we can all breathe a sigh of relief until the 50th anniversary and they try to pass something else off on us.

I Love It Loud.

There have been many times in the past that I have called myself a music snob. You could even go as far as to say a music geek if that term fits your fancy, and it wasn't until just recently that I realized: I LOVE IT LOUD.

The bands that influenced me when I was younger, really shine through in the choices that I make when it comes to my music.

Those records?

SUFFER by Bad Religion and THE ULTIMATE SIN by Ozzy Osbourne.

While I still listen to Bad Religion and Ozzy's new material they have opened doors for me to other bands such as Sick of It All, Slipknot, Killswitch Engage, H2O, Every Time I Die, Dillinger Escape Plan and the list just goes on and on..

Right now, I'm enjoying an album called "When We Don't Exist" by Like Moths To Flames. And when it comes down to it, going to see a band called Mass Murder Messiah, sounds like a damn good idea to me..
